What Types of Cupping are Lymphatic and Fibrosis Cupping?

I consider lymphatic cupping and fibrosis cupping to be massage cupping. Though the practitioner can intend to affect stagnation and stimulate the flow of qi, neither lymphatic or fibrosis cupping has the intention of creating red circular marks on the client or causing ecchymosis.

In the article ‘Cupping Therapy: An Overview from a Modern Medicine Perspective,’ Aboushanab et al. state that cupping therapy can be classified into six categories: Technical Type, Power of Suction, Method of Suction, Materials Inside Cups, Area Treated and Other Cupping Types.

The technical type of cupping I will discuss is massage cupping.

The Power of Suction category includes light, medium, and strong cupping. Lymphatic massage cupping is light and fibrosis cupping is medium.

The Methods of Suction I describe using include manual vacuum and electrical vacuum cupping.

I do not use any materials inside the cups.

The Areas Treated includes facial, abdominal and includes all genders. I will also use cupping on all areas of liposuction in the body.

The Other Cupping Types includes a cosmetic category.
