What to expect in this course

Do you own a profitable plastic surgery recovery massage business?

Would you like to?

That was my dream three years ago. I had just completed manual lymphatic drainage certification and was splitting my time between working as a massage employee for around $25 an hour (including tips) and booking private clients for $80 an hour.

The $25 an hour job had clients that wanted deep tissue. Sometimes I was booked for three 50 minute massages in a row without a break. My shoulder started to hurt. My thumbs began to hurt after a long day. I loved my coworkers but I did not spend over $15,000 in massage education to make $25 an hour and I knew every hour I spent overusing my thumbs, hands, arms and shoulders was one hour closer to getting injured.

I did not spend over $15,000 in massage education to make $25 an hour

The first plastic surgery client I took was recovering from a tummy tuck. She got up off the table, said she felt so much better and gave me a $100 bill.

My first regular client was a lady who had a facelift and wanted to heal perfectly. She paid me in $100 bills, too.

No elbows, no hard thumb work.

After a few months I raised my rate to $100 an hour. The next year, I was able to reduce my hours at my massage job and support myself through my own business.

Owning your own practice is empowering, but it can sometimes also cause anxiety and frustration, especially if you feel like you aren't using all your skills to their fullest potential.

Are you getting your money's worth from the hundreds of hours of expensive training you invested in at school?

Let me introduce myself. My name is Kathleen Lisson. I am a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Board Certified Massage Therapist and the author of Plastic Surgery Recovery Handbook. I have been practicing for four years and have the great fortune to be able to limit my practice to exclusively work on clients after plastic surgery. I have helped clients after abdominoplasty, body contouring after massive weight loss, brazilian butt lift, breast reduction, breast reconstruction after breast cancer, facial feminization surgery, facelift, gender confirmation surgery, gynecomastia surgery, liposuction, liposuction for lipedema, mastectomy, and necklift.

This class is designed for the massage therapist who is already an active business owner. It includes the tips and tricks I have used to build a successful practice. I’ll break these strategies down into the following topics:

How to Make What You’re Worth and Set Yourself Apart

How to Get Expertise and Keep Your Clients Safe

How to Build a Brand and Let Clients Find YOU

How to Take That First Step and Quick Start Guide

In each of the sections, I will share the simple techniques I have used to build a profitable business WITHOUT getting burned out or injuring my body.

Let’s get started! First, read a little more about my background (the official version) and have fun reading two business tips articles I wrote before we dive into how I use marketing to keep my business thriving.
